About

When I was a kid, I always wanted to become a journalist. My dream came true after I graduated from the Journalism – Print program at Centennial College and landed a job as a Reporter/Photographer at The Lindsay Daily Post. A few years later, I moved on to a position as a Lifestyle and Entertainment Reporter at The Barrie Examiner.

For 20 years I worked in marketing and communications but my love of writing never waned. For a number of years, I was a freelance soap writer at the now defunct Fame 10. Since 2020, I have focused my journalistic efforts on launching and editing the daytime drama publication The Soap Scoop, but Matinee Slim remains my home for movies, nighttime tv, health and of course smokin’ hot men.

Like many women, I have dealt with self-image and weight issues my whole life, but I have never written about those struggles. In 2017, I lost 20% of my body weight through a health and wellness contest at work, which I won. I taught myself not only how to lose the weight (while going through the merriment of menopause) but how to maintain the weight loss and still enjoy the good things in life.

I look forward to sharing my health and lifestyle knowledge, and my love of all things entertainment, with others through this blog.
